My son had an accident on the weekend. He was on a roof (well, he is a
silly teenager!), dropped 6 feet, his knees buckled and in pivoting
forward at god knows how many miles an hour, smashed the front of his
face on a concrete window sill.

After xrays at the hospital, the two front teeth that appeared to be
missing were actually found an inch and a half behind his nose!

Puts a whole new slant on teeth extraction - dont you think!!!!!!!!!!!!
GULP!

Mind you, he looks cute with his new pumpkin shaped face! :P

;-}

I dont like to think about it too much!! But kids are resilient - he
has bounced back remarkably well - I think I went into shock more than
he did!

Anyway, next thing on the agenda, once the gums attempt to look like
gums again, is to have false teeth put in - not bad for 14 years
old!!!!!!

Cheers!

:) Ya know, Jeanette - the doctors could not believe he hadnt damaged
his neck or head! And he hasnt got one scratch, graze or bruise on his
face, it was just the inside of his mouth - and yes, he is lucky to be
alive! (I am still wobbly!). My son is more concerned with the fact he
has to have a liquid diet for two weeks and has realised just how much
he takes a packet of crisps or a slice of toast for granted! Sloppy
weetabix, soup and chocolate milkshake are okay now and then but for
TWO WEEKS!
His phrase for his misfortune - "Shit happens"!! Kids, huh??!!

I'm glad he's 'relatively' OK anyway.

Thank you sweetie - I appreciate the concern. He has to go to the
Restorative dept today to have the shield and stitches out and then he
has to see the Orthodontist consultant on Friday to see what work can
be done on his mouth.

His pain has levelled out considerably but I got a feeling, once he has
been pulled about over two sessions, he wont feel as comfortable. Gawd
love 'im!

The shock of seeing him the first time he came into the Cinema pouring
with blood and me gasping at the extent of mess in his mouth, guess I
wont forget that for quite a while. Then seeing my strapping 14 year
old lad being put to sleep like a baby for his op (the surgeons were
attempting to pull the teeth from behind his nose back into place, but
the gums are so damaged, the teeth wouldnt bed back in). And I had the
leading role in a play this weekend just gone, so altho nerves were
just settling about my son, I had an adrenalin filled weekend being in
the play and its only now I can honestly say that I feel I am not
living on pins!!!

My son is amazing - he took it all in his stride because he admits it
was his own stupidity that got him in this mess in the first place. He
took a very philosophical approach and I am proud of him for that!

Again, Jeanette, thanks for your concern :))

How are you btw, how is life treating you??

He does sound like a lad to be proud of. I'm good, still chasing round the
country after Nicky Wire and James Dean Bradfield, and wondering why they
won't make life easier for me and gig in Preston :p

I bought the Quadrilogy set on DVD a month ago too, :-) (Gets on topic) We
watched Aliens with my twelve year old neice.

Otherwise, everything is boringly normal, except for this stupidly hot
weather.

It's a ritual for me and my Dad when we meet up twice a year to watch
it together. I still prefer Alien, but my Dad is a total Aliens fan so
thats what we watch!

When I got the Quadrilogy, I still havent watched AR(se) - It doesnt
exist!! LOL

This stupidly hot weather has disappeared here in sunny Wales - we are
back to rain, rain, rain. I dont mind it, the grass and plants need
it, but its depressing when it goes on for too long!

And yes, boringly normal is something alot of us put up with - why????

Oh yes. We get as close to the front as possible and yell our hearts out.
The Wire and JDB are doing solo stuff right now, I was lucky enough to see
both of them at their debut solo gigs, Nicky at Hay Festival, and JDB at the
Roadhouse in Manchester. I'm seeing JDB again at V festival. I can't wait!

Sarah enjoyed it, I think, she likes gory stuff, and I got the impression
she thought it was a bit tame. I don't think she quite understood what was
going on.

There was nothing like it and will never be again, so of course she
didnt get what was going on! :P As for tame - style of directorship
and emotional impact is different today in a lot of films.

JDB is threatening to do some solo gigs in Wales in September. Let me know
if you go to any of them, and perhaps we could meet up? We could wear

Raining - low, grey clouds, raining, wind. But the beaches are
gorgeous whatever time of year it is, so raining or not, I hit them!

Are you arriving in Wales between 15th and 21st October??

Indeed. We're planning a school trip in Colwyn Bay. Almost everything has
been planned, we're just expecting the list of families who will accommodate
the pupils.

It'll be my first time ever there!

a.c-m.a becoming a weather forecast station ?
Well, we can sensibly predict it on Acheron/LV-426 or on Fiorina 161 ;-)

Back to earth:
Places visited (as planned) : Caernafon, Portmeirion, Blaenau-Ffestiniog
Gwynedd, Llechwedd Slate Caverns

How do you pronounce "Llechwedd" ? (I don't have it in my pronunciation

It's way too difficult to type it here - you would need a few lessons
in positioning of tongue and spit!! A very, and I mean VERY,
simplified way for an english speaker would be KLECKWETH - but perhaps
this link will help for now:

http://www.red4.co.uk/welsh/lessons/1/lesson1-1.htm

DD is a gutteral KL or CL and DD is always TH

Do some practising and then ask a local to say it for you a few times!!

Beautiful language!

I take it you know how famous Portmeirion is? - "I am not a number"
<-- clue!
