Hey all, just wanted to let anyone who cared (or who
wanted to throw a big celebration :-) ) that I will be
off-line *again* in a couple of days. If all goes well
I'll be out of this nightmare situation and back into
my own apartment on Monday.

Which also means I won't have use of this computer
anymore as well. Ah . . . the pros and cons. Trust me,
it's the only con in moving out of here.

I might try to drop in once in awhile through Google
Groups at the library, which is three blocks from my
new home. Also, we do have a great University surplus
store in Iowa City, so I might find a cheap enough
computer at some point to at least go on-line, if there
is a decently priced ISP around. I've been spoiled by
the cable modem here; not sure if I can go back to
dial-up! ;-)

Anyway, never fear, I *always* return at some point.
It's been (mostly) fun this last ten months. If I don't
get around to posting anything the next couple of days
(weekends are the busiest for me at work *and* I have
to get ready to move) I'll hopefully "see" all of you much
sooner than later!

Just a note for a.c-m.a.: If any of you want me to write
the "group Alien script", let me know what thoughts or
ideas of yours you want to include. Either respond to
this post, or start a new thread, or send me an e-mail
at ***@gmail.co m. I'll try to at least keep up
with those.

Or not. I thought Glen's idea was pretty cool, but it
doesn't have to me, or you might not want to give up
your ideas for "my" script. It's up to you guys and gal.
Either way is fine with me. You won't hurt my feelings!

Have a great day, week, month, year!

Ahmed

Oh, let's celebrate, *anyway* - I enjoy any excuse for a party!

Hope all goes well with your move, Ahmed.

I'd lend a hand, but I'm a bit far.

A shame, really, 'cos I just know that I'd enjoy the pizza afterwards.

It pays to shop around.

I recently found out that Best Buy doesn't necessarily always have the best
buys.

The Manager at the Radio Shack next door has recommended this establishment
to me (and others have done since):

http://pccyber.ca/scrMain.asp

Radio Shack told me that, when I'm in the market for a new computer, I'd be
able to put together a basic system for within $500.00, and PC Cyber could
ship it to me (as it turns out, they're in Ottawa, so I could pick it up in
person).

What with the exchange rate on the American dollar, you'd be saving even
more.

We have a free computer magazine in Ottawa that compares all the ISPs in the
area by a number of factors, helping consumers in their selection of an ISP.

Here's an example:

Perhaps you have a local computer magazine that would have a similar ISP
list?
