I have only seen snatches of this movie but as I understand it the
title is something to do with the WiZARD of OZ.

Can someone remind me

- what is going on
- what is the gig with the flying head, and
- if I need to bother seeing the whole thing?

If you remember in the Wizard of Oz - The Wizard is a fraud. He isnt
an all encompassing, magical being, he is a little man hiding behind a
curtain.

It's the same in Zardoz - the pretense of divinity in order to control
the masses.

The clue is in the name: wiZARD of OZ.
