"According to a quote from Veronica Cartwright in a film magazine, in the scene
where the alien's tail wraps around her legs, they are actually Harry Dean
Stanton's legs, in a shot originally filmed for another scene entirely."

Hmmmm?

Very true... Which is why those of us who disagree with the *rape* theory
insist it is not intended to look as such.

Check out the *sneakers*.

Before I even heard that the legs are attached to somebody else, I
never subscribed to the "rape" theory anyway. I dont think it was even
a pre-meditated taunt by the alien. That scene was played out to
embellish the frozen in fear stance that Lambert took. Didnt notice
the sneakers (continuity) 'til I frequented this ng a few years back!
