It's a sentimental thing, but if we had the original band of merry men (and the odd girlie like me) frequenting here with a good "Alien" film to discuss then maybe we could discuss something.

Unfortunately, after the abomination called ARse, things kind of fizzled out. Plus, many of the good ol' souls that frequented here have either gone off in a huff, got bored, got disillusioned or have become enemies and are likely to ignore each other.

Sad but a fact.

I wonder if web forums killed the fringe groups of usenet. I know of
many usenet groups that are still live andwell, allthough not as live
as five years ago, but still.

With unmoderated sites like this, people are apt to get put off by trolls and/or aggressive bullyish behaviour. I had to leave a diabetic newsgroup because of such behaviour. I was learning so much (saving my own life) with the small amount of well informed people on there but there was one or two people who were making it impossible to keep up a civilised conversation. Nasty, nasty gits so I left and joined a moderated forum.

Sure, but that hardly applies to acma... We haven't had any trolls
here as far as I'm aware...
