Whilst trying to find something marginally interesting to watch, the other
night, I happened upon As:SE (sic) being shown, so I sat down and watched
it for about 15min. It was the stretch from when they had first landed on
LV-426, up until they found Newt.
It struck me how wooden most of the acting was, which was something I had
not noticed before. I hasten to add this was with the exception of SW, who
was fine. The movie is also starting to look a bit dated... I can't put my
finger on what it is: I don't mean the hairstyles or computer graphics or
anything like that (similarly-but-more- dated elements of Alien don't
bother me at all), it just *really* seems like a 1980s movie.
Also: was Ripley's slight hesitation before entiring the colony buildings
for the first time in the cinematic release? Or was that one of the
additions for the SE? I can't recall noticing it before.
